About me

Name: Jordan
Age: 22 (born 3/20/1991)
From: Born in Washington, DC, currently living in Irvine, CA and going to school in Long Beach, CA (so much driving!)
School: Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach
- Major: Vocal performance, planning to major in choral conducting in grad school (and no, I’m not a music ed major because it’s too focused on K-12 at my school and that’s not what I want to do)

Favorites

Favorite food: BBQ, burgers, potatoes, pasta, chips, bacon
Favorite drink: Vitamin water XXX. If you see me regularly, you know I’m rarely without a bottle. I can’t get through choir rehearsals or voice lessons without it.
Favorite color: Black and bright/neon colors
Favorite music: While I love anything that sounds good in my ears, I LOVE METAL. Especially melodic death metal, but I also love folk metal, power metal, thrash metal, progressive metal and NWOBHM. I like hair metal as a guilty pleasure (along with a lot of 80s pop music), but I don’t like nu-metal or metalcore. I also love classical music (all time periods, except I don’t like super-modern contemporary classical), especially big choral works. I love pretty much anything that falls under “ominous Latin chanting” and/or “orchestra bombing” in TV tropes.
Favorite book(s): Harry Potter series, the first two Hunger Games books, The DaVinci Code, The Crucible, Brave New World, Mustaine (Dave Mustaine’s autobiography, written shortly before he went completely insane haha)
Favorite show(s): Doctor Who, Metalocalypse, Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, How I Met Your Mother, Workaholics, Family Guy, The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, and while I don’t think it’s a “good” show, Glee is my guilty pleasure
Favorite Movies: Star Wars (original trilogy and the second half of Episode III), most Star Trek movies (except nemesis and the reboot, although the latter is a good movie just not a good Star Trek), most Bond movies, A Clockwork Orange, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (more for the callbacks and atmosphere than the actual movie, though), Harry Potter movies, Amadeus

About: My tumblr has no theme whatsoever, but expect a lot of posts about Doctor Who, Pokemon, Metalocalypse, Zelda, heavy metal, music in general, food and just whatever. I’m not very consistent in what I post, so don’t be surprised if I post a lot of, say, Iron Maiden one month but none the next month. Also, my tumblr can get pretty NSFW sometimes, so I apologize in advance.

I tend to speak my mind. I have strong opinions about a lot of stuff. I don’t really give a fuck about who I offend. I’m an atheist that doesn’t hate religion, but hates religious intolerance. I love cats but don’t have any. I’m a strong supporter of LGBT rights, and I think you’re a complete asshole if you’re not. I’m heteroromantic and bisexual, if that makes sense. I can find faults in just about anything and anyone. I tend to not take a lot of things seriously, and if you do, you’re not gonna like this page. I’m a competitive Pokemon battler, although I consider my battling skills to just be average. Music is definitely the biggest part of my life, and it’s probably the only thing keeping me sane.

I’m a feminist and a supporter of social justice, but it may not seem that way sometimes because I tend to make fun of it. That’s because I find militant social justice nazis to be REALLY ANNOYING. Yes, I just said Snowman instead of Snowperson, and the reason I don’t like trans fat is because it’s unhealthy, not because I’m cissexist.

Also, I pretty much never watch back. Sorry. I also don’t expect you to watch me back if I watch you, but you’re welcome to if you like my blog.

In real life, I’m 22 years old and I’m a vocal music major at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach. My eventual goal is a doctorate in choral conducting, but it’s gonna take a while to get there. I can sing up to a high F# (although it doesn’t sound very good, but I’m working on it). I tend to be kind of a loner, but I really do appreciate my friends. It’s really easy to get on my bad side, though.
